KidKare is a program that provides free food for children. Part of the Minute Menu Company, this program allows you to log in to their secure website to pre-plan your meals and claim reimbursement for the food you serve. The website even allows you to print tax reports so you can keep track of your expenses. To use the service, you must register and receive a login ID. You must then record how many meals you serve each day and check off which children claim a certain meal. If your menu is more than a week old, the nutrition educator will not reimburse you for the food you serve.
Problems with KidKare
You may have encountered problems logging into KidKare. The page may appear to be “sleeping,” or you may be receiving a message that says you’ve gone incognito. To resolve this issue, try clearing your cache. Clearing the cache will refresh the page with the most recent information. To do this, use the instructions for your browser. If a hard refresh still does not work, you can try disabling private browsing. If this solution does not work, you can contact support.
One of the major problems with KidKare is the hours tracking. You must know the exact number of hours you worked for the year in order to properly claim tax deductions. The hours of operation feature of KidKare does not work, but it will be fixed this fall. It does not track the hours you spent caring for children outside of your regular schedule. If you rely on substitutes or temporary employees, the hours you spend with them may not be accurate.
Cost
The Cloud-based childcare management system, Kidkare, allows daycare centers and sponsors to manage their child care programs. Kidkare’s features include attendance tracking, reporting, role-based permissions, finance management, and mobile access. With these features, you can manage and optimize your monthly payments while still meeting the requirements of Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) regulations. You can even track reimbursement rates and calculate claims for food and other expenses.
To enroll your child in KidKare, you need to pay a one-time registration fee of $705 for each student. After-school hours are offered on Tuesday and Thursday, and your child can stay until 6pm. You can drop off your child as early as 7am and pick him or her up as late as 6pm. KidKare is open five days a week, from Monday through Friday from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 am to 11am. If you need more hours, you can sign up for an hourly package or a membership.
Hourly packages are available at KidKare, and will cost $30. Each hourly pass contains 20 digital tickets, good for 30 minutes in KidKare. You can share these passes with other members of your family or use a linked Freedom Center account to share the costs. The maximum time spent at KidKare is 120 minutes per visit, so a 70 minute visit will count as three tickets. Extended visits may require an additional late fee.
Online claiming
If your child is on the food program, you may need to submit a claim to receive your benefits. Fortunately, claiming is incredibly simple when you use KidKare. The system can be accessed from any computer, tablet, or mobile device that has an Internet connection. To ensure that your claim is processed in a timely manner, you must submit your claim on or before the fifth of the month. During this time, you must also make sure to submit all of the September menus and school holidays.
You can complete your claims online through the KidKare website, which is completely free. This web-based application will save you time and money by eliminating the need for paper paperwork. You can easily enter all of your child’s information, pre-plan your meals, and even print a tax report. The KidKare website will generate a login ID so that you can access and submit your claims whenever you need them. You must be sure to record the number of meals your children eat every day and make sure that each meal is claimed by a child. The nutrition educators will not reimburse you if your menus are outdated.
To get started with KidKare, you can create a test provider account for training and hands-on experience. Click the Providers menu, select Enroll Provider Wizard, and type in your name and password. Be sure to choose a simple password, and make sure that your account does not exist before. You will be given the next available provider ID after this. Once you have created your account, you are ready to claim your first child.
