Beverly Poitier-Henderson

In the late 1990s, Beverly Poitier-Henderson was an actress who starred in the hit television show “Little House on the Prairie.” She also starred in the movie “The Love Boat.” She also appeared in several films such as “The Good Girl,” and in the movie “Duckling Down the Well.” She has since retired from acting. She is now a writer and a director. In addition to her writing and filmmaking endeavors, she is an advocate for women’s rights. She is a member of the Women’s Political Action Committee (WPAC).

Sherri Poitier

Sidney Poiter was an American actor who made history as the first Black man to win an Academy Award for Best Actor. He was also the first African American to be nominated for a Best Actor Oscar. He also received two more Emmy nominations for his work.

During his career, he fought for better depictions of Black Americans in film. He was the only African-American actor to have been nominated for the Best Actor Oscar and the only one to have been awarded it. She is the daughter of Alfred and Florence Dafoe. She has been a teacher at Arden’s since 1967. She is an active member of the Rotary Club of Belleville, and is an avid piano player. She also is a core member of the Belleville RCM Piano Club. She lives at 5291 Church Road in Boyne City, MI.

She was born on October 7, 1940, in Dafoe, Saskatchewan, to Alfred and Florence. Her father served in the Air Force, and she lived with her parents for many years. She has six children, and she is also the mother of seven grandchildren. She is a longstanding core teacher at Arden’s in Belleville.
