n_m3u8dl_cli allows you to download media files from YouTube and other websites. This addon allows you to copy URLs directly or use youtube-dl/yt-dlp commands. It also allows you to change the options of the addon. Once installed, n_m3u8dl-cli will open a new window that allows you to customize its options.
Use youtube-dl/yt-dlp directly
You can use youtube-dl/yt-DLP directly to download movies from streaming services like YouTube. You can download movies with thumbnail images and age restrictions, and it works on many services. You can find more information about yt-dlp on the project’s GitHub page. In addition to downloading movies, you can also download music, videos, and other files from many streaming services.
When using yt-dlp, be aware of the download option –split-chapters. This can remove unwanted portions of a video from your download. In Tartube, you can specify your own video slices. The program’s limitations also affect yt-dlp. To fix this, use Tartube. It contacts the SponsorBlock server for a list of video slices.
To use yt-dlp directly, open a terminal window and type ‘yt-dl’. After the command, a half-width space must be added between the URL and the command. You’ll then be able to download the file in the highest possible quality. For most cases, the video is in h264, but you can choose another format if you prefer it.
Besides youtube-dl, you can also download videos from other sites. For example, if you’re looking to download videos from more than 1,000 sites, you can use youtube-dl, a command-line program. It requires FFmpeg for muxing, but forks can add additional features and formats. You can also use yt-dlg, which is a graphical frontend to youtube-dl.
YouTube-dl will download audio and video separately, but with the video file being downloaded first, the ffmpeg-based software will merge the two files into a single output file. The resulting file will be an MP3 file, with the video being downloaded to your computer. Yt-dlp is a great alternative to youtube-dl, but it isn’t as stable and will stop working regularly if YouTube changes. Moreover, some Linux distributions may take a while to update it.
Tartube also requires youtube-dl. To use it, you should be running Tartube. Tartube uses FFmpeg by default, but can also use AVConv to perform certain tasks. Tartube requires MSYS2-compatible FFmpeg, but you’ll need to install it yourself. However, it may not be possible to install AVConv on other operating systems.
